"Most are relatively long, averaging 3.1 single-spaced pages and very detailed"
The name of the dean’s letter
has been changed, effective immediately, to Medical
Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) in order
to reflect its purpose as an evaluation of a medical
student’s performance (rather than a recommendation
or prediction of future performance). The
MSPE describes, in a sequential manner, a student’s
performance, as compared to that of his/her peers,
through three full years of medical school and, as
much as possible, the fourth year. The MSPE
includes an assessment of both the student’s academic
performance and professional attributes.
An ideal Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) includes some personal background information about you. Most importantly, they go on to detail your preclinical and, especially, your clinical performance. It should include direct quotes from evaluations of your performance.
Most MSPE's of IMGs are too short and frequently mention that the individual just "passed" and is "a good candidate".

The IMGI MSPE+ Service is one of IMGIs most popular requested premium service. IMGI will:
Professionally rewrite your Dean's letter in the MSPE format, to correctly represent you.
Make sure you get a MSPE that is detailed and includes key sentences.
Americanize and enhance the evaluation so that it stands out, especially, at the end with an overall or summary recommendation.
Upon completion of the MSPE, just have your Dean's office review it and sign it. It>'s that simple.
"The MSPE will not only be used when you apply for a residency position, but it will also be sent out in the future, at your request, when you are looking for employment after residency."(Iserson, 2000)
The reference letter that you send is a reflection of you in other people's eyes
